Héctor Teruel
Junior
Second year youth rider from Ayora who this season has competed in the GSsport+Vatios with very interesting results in the calendar of the Comunitat Valenciana and with good performances in an international race like the Bizkaiko Itzulia. He started cycling with his brother Borja. The two brothers used to play football, but Borja changed sports and Héctor became a regular in the races, providing assistance, support and encouragement. “He encouraged me, because he saw me enjoying myself, but I couldn’t make up my mind and kept on playing football. One day I ended up trying it out and in the end, at the age of eleven, after a period of combining the two, I started to compete in cycling. At the beginning I also did mountain biking, but I ended up focusing on road cycling. Eventually I ended up trying cyclo-cross, which I really liked and I continue to do it”, says the Valencian. “My favourite area for training is my area, the Ayora-Cofrentes valley: good roads to work on, with lots of mountains. I like to climb. My favourite climbs are El Campichuelo and Cinto la Cabra. In general I like everything related to sport, but above all I would highlight motorbikes because I have a friend who competes and I like to watch him race when possible”.
