Tour of South Bohemia: Albanese on the podium.

Dane Wallin (GSH) won the first stage of the Tour of South Bohemia, a 7-kilometer time trial, and thus wore the leader’s jersey in the general classification. Behind him Dutchman Zijlaard (VWC) and Italy’s Vincenzo Albanese finished 23 seconds behind the winner. Right behind was Erik Fetter (24″).

Biagio Conte: The guys responded well, although we would have liked to start with a win: but we are here to win the overall and from tomorrow we will fight for that. It will be difficult because everyone will be waiting for EOLO-KOMETA and we will have to be good at interpreting the race. The guys are motivated and they know there is a great chance here to hit a result.”
