The under 23 and junior teams meet up in Pinto before the star of the season

The under 23 and junior teams of Polti Kometa had been training on the city of Pinto during the days 9 and 14 of February before the star of the 2024 season. Both the team under 23 with 16 riders, as the junior team with 13, used this time with the staff to prepare the first races.

Both teams will keep the developing essence. In 2024 40% of the profesional team riders are riders who had been on the development structure before. The race calendar will cover the races in Spain, reducing the presence in Italy, but racing the most importante races around Europe like in the past. In this way, Miguel Gomez will be the third sports director this year, so the team could race more.

Under 23 riders will start the season this weekend on the Memorial Sanroma as the juniors will start on Don Benito next week. They meet up for the second time, after the first one in Oliva on December, and live together on Hotel Princesa de Eboli.

“Being able to do two training camps thanks to our sponsors its a luxury for a development team. We worked on the first steeps of training in December and now we are getting ready to race” told Rafael Diaz, under 23 team sports director. “What we try is to teach riders to eat well and rest. This teaching will be key when the become profesional riders”, he added.

“We have a very young team, so this season will be as difficult as challenging. We have a very fast sprinter, Tommaso Bessega and 6 very good climbers with Pablo García as the leader for his experience” said Diaz, excited with the squad.

“Meet up, look after the winter works and schedule the race calendar are the main objectives of this training camp. We had done more specific work with the riders than the last time on December” said Isaac Cantón, junior team sports director.

“I see a truly new team with a lot of ambition. We saw good performance of the riders and we have some of them that could be ones to follow. I think this could be a nice year” added Cantón.
