Without the traditional time trial, passing through El Garbí on the way and with terrain to break up the race: the Volta a Valencia arrives

11º Vuelta a la Provincia de Valencia
From 9 to 12 September

Perhaps the great novelty of the eleventh edition of the Volta a la Provincia de Valencia lies in the absence of the time trial. If the individual fight against the clock, unusual in the category in recent times, had become one of the signs of identity of the race, the Levantine race promoted by the Federación de Ciclismo de la Comunitat Valenciana proposes for this 2021 a route of four days in line in which there is no lack, of course, of orographic difficulties in which to test the strength of others and fight for the victory in the general classification.

El Garbí, a renowned summit, is the great ascent of the race. The iconic ascent of the Sierra de la Calderona, 9 km at 5%, with a devastating kilometre and a half in which the percentage is always above double digits and the ramps reach 22%, will be crowned within the last 20 kilometres. And this comes on the second day.

The Cantabrian Álvaro García, the Castilian-Leonese Vicente Hernaiz, the Madrid-born Alejandro Luna, the Andalusian David Martín, the Asturian Edu Pérez-Landaluce and Yago Segovia and the Italian Andrea Montoli make up the seven with which the U23 structure of the Contador Foundation will take part.

The stages.
9 September: Valencia-Barxeta (135.1 km).

10th September: Estivella – Estivella (132.6 km).

11th September: Benageber – Titaguas (130.2 km).

12th September: Moncada – Moncada (122.3 km).
