The sterrato between Collalto and Susegana awaits the peloton of the Memorial Polese this Saturday
Edoardo Alleva, Luca Bagnara, Gabriele Bessega, Tommaso Bessega, Álex García and Gabriele Raccagni are the six riders with whom the EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team u23 goes this Saturday to a new edition of the Memorial Polese, a race organized by the N. T. Cycling Societ’a Sportiva Dilettantistica in Veneto.
The race in the province of Treviso is based on three circuits and their respective liaison sections. The greatest difficulty, both altimetrically and technically, will come on the Strada di Collalto, where a two-kilometre section of sterrato, which must be crossed three times, can provide a great selection.
This stretch of strade bianche between vineyards, farms and wooded areas located between Collalto and Susegana is the great novelty of this edition and in the total of the route it will mean six kilometres without pavement, in the environment with more slopes, moreover. For the Contador Foundation it will be its second participation in this race.
Luca Bagnara: “I am ready to compete. Unfortunately my debut in the Sanroma Memorial was not the dreamed, two days were a bit unfortunate because the first day I had stomach problems and the second day I was involved in a fall that forced me to retire because of a strong blow to my knee. I’m recovered, I have good legs and I’m also very anxious and interested in getting to know the sterrato, as I’ve never done races with dirt sections”.
