The Bidasoa Itzulia returns after two years of absence and a strong EOLO-KOMETA will be present at the return

48º  Bidasoa Itzulia
From 5 to 7 May

Two years later, the Tour of Bidasoa returns. The Bidasoa Itzulia is one of the most intense stage races on the U23 calendar and, at the same time, one of the most complex to interpret when it comes to fighting for the overall. Short, nervous routes, variable and sometimes unpredictable weather, and a very important and international participation guarantee the spectacular nature of one of the first stage races of the year. In 2022, due to the drought generated by the COVID-19 health emergency, the event is even more eagerly awaited.

In the Basque race, which will be held in Gipuzkoa, Navarre and France on its return to the front line, the U23 structure of the Contador Foundation has achieved some very nice results. At the top, the 2018 overall victory of Juan Pedro López, the prelude to his leap to professionalism with the then continental team of the Foundation. But also, more recently, in 2019, the victory of Alejandro Ropero in Irrisarri Land.

Led by Rafa Díaz Justo, the EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team U23 comes with a ‘seven’ composed of David Domínguez, Ramón Fernández, Arnau Gilabert, Antonio González, Davide Piganzoli, Gabriele Raccagni and Fernando Tercero. A block of guarantees for when the race is looking upwards in which there are two young talents, González and Raccagni, who are in their first year in the category.

The stages.
5 May: Irun – Irrisari Land (104.2 km).

6 May: Hendaye – Hondarribia (119.4 km).

7 May: Irún – Irún (77.3 km).
