Weekend of podium finishes for Samuel Flórez in Oñati and Liernia

New competitive experience for Colombian Samuel Flórez in the Basque and Navarre calendar. The rider from Medellín took part this Saturday in a new edition of the Mikel Deunaren Saria in Oñati, while this Sunday he competed in the XLII Prueba Liernia, with a short time trial and a second sector with several climbs and a mountain finish.

In the online race, a short route punctuated by climbs to Liernia, Ergoene, Liernia, Zerain and Liernia again, Flórez finished second, one second behind Gari Ugarte. In the subsequent time trial, over 4 kilometres, Flórez would set the fifth best time.

The Gipuzkoan event was 84 kilometres long and the riders had to face the climbs of Udana, Atagoiti (twice) and, crowning three kilometres from the finish, Arregi. Ibai Irisarri (Limousin-Oriako) won with just two seconds ahead of the South American rider of the youth EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team and Unax Errasti (Ulma).
