Nacho Sánchez
Junior
The Madrid-born rider comes to the Foundation from the Unión Ciclista Fuenlabrada cadet team. “I raced with them as a second cadet and I have had a magnificent season with them. I started cycling as a second year Infantil, a year in which I made some podiums, in a cycling school in Alcalá de Henares, where I live”, he says. Nacho (he prefers to be called that rather than Ignacio) lives in the historic Complutum with his mother, Monica, and his current partner and husband, Marco, whom he considers his father. She has a twin brother, Sergio, who looks very similar, and an older sister. Sergio will compete in his first year as a junior with UC San Sebastián de los Reyes. “I started cycling thanks to my father, we used to go out on the weekends with the mountain bike. I had a really good time, I liked it a lot. One day when we were talking about joining an athletics school, because I really like running, or trying another sport, we came across the Rodríguez Magro Cycling Academy. As cycling was a lot of fun, we went there. And we still do today”. As for other hobbies, Nacho is very fond of hiking: “I like it, whether with family or friends”. And earlier, he also mentioned his corricolaris interests. “From time to time, of course, there’s the occasional football match with friends. And in my free time, the truth is that what I like most is to spend time with my loved ones, with my girlfriends and my friends, either to go out for dinner somewhere or just to have a good time with them”.
