Murcia and Almeria, two different classics where looking for a win
The Vuelta a Murcia, which takes place on a single mountainous day on Saturday 11 February, and the Clásica de Almería, a race for sprinters on Sunday 12 with the traditional finish in Roquetas del Mar, are the next two objectives of EOLO KOMETA in the Spanish competition tour. The place where Fernando Tercero will make his debut as a professional cyclist.
Two long races with very different routes will mark the weekend. The first, the Vuelta a Murcia, proposes a 194-kilometre route through the province with three climbs. The always nervous Alto de la Cresta del Gallo in the initial section will form the breakaway, within the first hour of the race. The long climb to Collado Bermejo in the middle of the race will be the perfect place to chase the break and for the teams without fast men to accelerate the race. Everything will be resolved in the Alto del Cedacero, where the bunch will be selected with a nice finish in this edition with the climb to the viewpoint of Cartagena that includes several complicated turns and ramps that will give a nice opportunity to powerful cyclists.
A very different profile will be found in the Clásica de Almería on Sunday. In total, 190.3 kilometres that accumulate the hardness in the first half with the climbs of Dalías and its ramps above 8%, the undulating area of Alquerías and Fuente Marbella as well as the ascent to Almerimar before reaching Roquetas for the first time, with two final laps that will decide the winner in a probable sprint. The wind will play its role in the second part of the course and the tension in the streets of Roquetas del Mar will condition the bunch and the sprinters looking to take the victory.
For both races, EOLO KOMETA has selected a line up formed by very fast riders such as Simone Bevilacqua and David Martín, who will have to take the lead especially in Almería, while in the hardest areas of Murcia the opportunity will be for Fernando Tercero, Álex Martín or Davide Piganzoli. The solvency of Erik Fetter and Davide Bais makes them the most versatile riders in the squad.

Murcia will be tough, but I trust in the good form that Bais, Fetter or Álex Martín have already shown, as well as the role that riders like Tercero or Piganzoli can show if they have legs in the most demanding climb of Collado Bermejo. In Almería, we will trust on David Martín because we expect a mass sprint. The team will work for and with him, with the intention of transmitting him confidence and that he gives everything to get a good result”.
