Looking forward to repeating in the Tour de Limousin

Tour de Limousin (2.1)
15-18 august

Stage 1: Rilhac-Rancon – Bénévent L’Abbaye (165’7km)
Stage 2: Excideuil – Trélissac (185’6km)
Stage 3: Sarran – Bort-les Orgues (195’5km)
Stage 4: Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche – Limoges (170’6km)

A great victory in the final stage of the Tour de Limousin 2022, thanks to Vincenzo Albanese’s powerful sprint, or Erik Fetter’s triumph in 2021 on the same final day, brings great memories to EOLO KOMETA ahead of the French race that starts this Tuesday: the Tour de Limousin.

The competition, which although not facing high mountains, is full of difficulties, will undoubtedly be for powerful and above all skilful cyclists, looking for the opportunity either through a breakaway or through reduced sprints in the resolution of each day. Four days of high-level cycling and the great ambition of repeating last year’s triumph.

This Tour de Limousin starts with 165 kilometres on the road to Bénévent L’Abbaye. Two ‘cotes’ and an uphill finish will mark the first leader of the race. The second stage will undoubtedly be the clearest option for a mass sprint. On the third day, the arrival in Bort-les Orgues on the longest day (almost 200 kilometres) will once again select the bunch for the finish, while the final stage in Limoges includes three laps of a demanding and surely decisive circuit in this Tour de Limousin.

The starting line-up will be the same as at La Polynormande. Davide Bais will be the man for the general classification; with the always active and brave Mirco Maestri ready to fight. Alongside them, the fast Simone Bevilacqua, Giòvanni Lonardi and Fran Muñoz, with Samuele Rivi and Andrea Pietrobon who will take their chances through breakaways or distant movements.

Stefano Zanatta: “It’s the fourth year in the Tour de Limousin and it brings back great memories with the victory we achieved with Erik Fetter or last year with Vincenzo Albanese. It’s an ideal stage to continue growing and preparing for the final part of the season, a race that we know and that with these results motivates the riders to try to repeat them. I think we have the good option of Davide Bais to fight for the general classification while the speed of Lonardi is a very good option for the sprint days. Hopefully we will be in a position to raise our arms again in this race that has given us so much joy”.
