In the fight in the castle of Onda, on the podium in Béjar
The double competition faced by the U19 team this Saturday brought a good race for Manuel Sanroma in the Trofeo Víctor Cabedo and a podium finish for Daniel Díaz in the Trofeo Ayuntamiento de Béjar .
In Castellón, Sanroma finished tenth in the Trofeo Castillo de Onda, the first of the four races of the Trofeo Víctor Cabedo, where the victory went to Héctor Alvarez (Lucta Granja Rinya). Sanroma was one of the ten strongest riders in the Collado de Ayódar in a day where Álvar Martín and Pablo Leno were involved in crashes and in which finally the Hungarian Balazs Pollner, still with discomfort after his fall in the Circuito del Guadiana, did not take part.
Manuel Sanroma: “I’m happy with the sensations and with the good work done by the team despite the crash suffered by Álvar and Peblo. Little by little we are getting into the rhythm of the competition and we are looking forward to this Sunday’s race”.
In the Trofeo Ayuntamiento de Béjar, the Hungarian Balint Feldhoffer finished tenth in this first edition won by Adrián Garbajosa. Feldhoffer, Gerard Cano (14th) and Miguel Domínguez were the three riders designated to be more active and attentive at the end.
Daniel Díaz, a first year junior, climbed the podium as the winner of the mountain classification. The rider from Madrid topped the pass through Cristóbal and finished third in Colmenar de Montemayor: “On the first pass I was among the first in the group, I tried to accelerate and managed to finish first. On the second climb there were two riders escaped ahead, I moved from behind, I rode alone and crowned third”.
