Flat, mountains and tricky routes for the return of the illustrious Vuelta a Salamanca after the break forced by COVID-19

49ª Vuelta Ciclista a Salamanca
From 5 to 7 September

Absent from the roads in 2020 due to the circumstances, the aftermath of the pandemic and the health control measures that first moved it from July to September, the Vuelta Ciclista a la Provincia de Salamanca finally returns to the calendar in this last month with a proposal of three days in which the mountains will have a very relevant weight, especially on the second day.

The Promesal Cycling Academy proposes a first day in which a sprint is very likely, a very mountainous second day in which the passage through the Portillo de Las Batuecas is less than six kilometres to the end and a third day with ‘pepper’ in the middle part where things can happen and strategies can be developed.

Rafa Díaz Justo, director of the U23 team of the Contador Foundation, and Carlos Barredo, responsible for the physical preparation, have set a line-up of six riders with a lot of potential for the climb. Javi Serrano from Madrid, Fernando Tercero from Castilla-La Mancha, the Catalans Arnau Gilabert and Álex Martín and the Italians Andrea Montoli and Davide Piganzoli form this sextet of guarantees to face the Helmantic round.

The stages.
5 September: Castellanos de Moriscos – Sardón de los Frailes (158.6 km).

6th September: Ledrada – La Alberca (167.1 km).

7th September: Doñinos – Salamanca (170 km).
