An important goal in Hungary
With the Giro d’Italia already underway, EOLO KOMETA faces a second front of competition which it will attend in the same way with the conviction of aiming for a great result. Hungary, the land of the sponsor KOMETA, is also the place where five days of a race with great symbolism for the team will take place.
Through the western and central part of the country, visiting the mountains and of course concluding in the capital. The route of the Tour of Hungary offers possibilities for all cyclists. Two laps of an 80-kilometre circuit will mark the first day in Szentgotthard, which should be resolved by a sprint, the same finish as the second day with the final climb 30 kilometres from the end.
Two top finishes for the Tour of Hungary, with the six climbs and the finish in Pecs on the third stage as well as the five mountain passes, more than 200 kilometres long and the finish in Dobogoko, after more than 2,600 metres of climbing, as the queen day of the competition. Both the hardness and the length will mark the virtual winner of the general classification before racing the final circuit in Budapest with 15 laps including the Disz climb for the brave ones who want to take advantage of this last chance.
EOLO KOMETA travels to the competition with a young team in which David Martín will be in charge of the speed. The Andalusian sprinter will be looking for a leading role in the flat stages, which will be complemented by the efficiency in the mountains of Álex Martín and Davide Piganzoli. Andrea Garosio as well as Alessandro Fancellu and Andrea Pietrobon will be in charge of the Tour of Hungary where the protagonism in the race is assured.
Biagio Conte, sport director: “We have a young squad, with the experience of Andrea Garosio. For us, the Tour of Hungary is a really important race and the competitive level will be very high. I think it will help our guys to grow as riders. We will try to fight for the overall with Álex Martín and Garosio himself. In addition, we will have up to three chances to try with David Martín who I think has a huge potential to exploit and has a nice opportunity here. We don’t have a full squad to support him, but we will help him to fight in the sprint. Then, stage by stage, we will see our possibilities to try to get the best possible result”.
