Albanese: “A great Tour of Slovenia.”

Fourth place overall, behind three world cycling phenomena. First of the Italians. First of a Professional team. Sure, the victory was missing: but in a difficult, competitive and even a bit unlucky Tour of Slovenia (Lorenzo Fortunato’s falls that forced him to retire), for EOLO-KOMETA the star of Vincenzo Albanese shone. A team by his side that has always worked to put him in the best condition, a splendid leg that has allowed him to run always in front and that now leaves a lot of optimism: in a week’s time there will be the national championships, and the course that will come between the Trulli of Alberobello seems really suitable for Alba.

“This was a beautiful Tour of Slovenia for me. I’m delighted with the result, I’m delighted with the team that every day made me feel like a leader, in five stages I hit five placings plus fourth place in the general classification that I didn’t even dare to hope for. If they had told me that I would finish fourth behind three champions like those who came in front of me, I would not have believed it. I’m happy, and with this happiness I’m going to the Italian championships-I’m convinced I can do a great race, and we’ll try everything.”
