Polti Kometa and Lechler: together to pursue the values of passion
Together, united by a common thread called passion. Only in this way is it possible to present the agreement between Team Polti Kometa and Lechler, who will begin to walk side by side to reach common goals, ever higher goals.
In recent years, Lechler has evolved from a paint manufacturer to a company that promotes color culture in a sustainable way. The Color Design project has combined the technological and humanistic aspects of color, with nature as inspiration to create beauty that lasts. The ESS&RE project gave meaning, value and direction to the change of perspective toward environmental, social and economic sustainability.
A difficult work, with two peculiarities: the first is that it is at the center is the human being, who as an individual, team, community and family must take responsibility; the second is that the path undertaken never ends, but lives on constant study, effort and updating of one’s knowledge.
Impossible not to think of parallels with sports where physical performance and technology are always taken to extremes and where the quest for ‘marginal gain’ is exaggerated: cycling. Athletic preparation, nutrition, aerodynamics, wattages and technical clothing to be applied to increasingly tailored bicycles with often experimental components.
It was inevitable, because of similarity of purpose and geographical proximity, that Polti and Lechler would meet to build a piece of the future together through the Polti Kometa team . A future that has a very specific shape, that of a bicycle, the sustainable vehicle par excellence. Lechler has been specializing in performance and ultralight carbon paint cycles since the early 2000s through its collaboration with Formula 1 racing teams and several bicycle manufacturing brands around the world, including Aurum, an Italian-Spanish brand that supplies bicycles to the team. Lechler’s commitment will go beyond sponsorship and will see the Como-based company involved in a project for 2024 that cannot yet be unveiled at the moment.
Lechler’s president, Cav. Lav. Aram Manoukian, has also served as the head of Confindustria Como, and when asked to comment on this synergy that sees his company once again committed to supporting sports, he said, “What is an ENTERPRISE? The same question put to yours truly or to Ivan Basso will elicit different answers. Common instead is the flywheel that drives the realities we represent to do better and better, to constantly challenge themselves, to reach one goal and immediately find another more ambitious one: passion for what we do. Today we begin a journey together, hoping that our venture will contribute to the realization of new feats signed by the riders of the team.”
He is echoed by Ivan Basso, a champion capable of winning two Giri d’Italia and one of the founders of Polti Kometa: “I’m happy, very happy: Lechler is a company that immediately struck me for its history and for the innovative and groundbreaking spirit it has.
