The competition does not stop and Italy continues to be the land of our dreams. The place where EOLO KOMETA will be pedalling to continue its quest for top-level results. The five stages of Coppi e Bartali offer, as always, fast, demanding and nervous circuits. The perfect combination to enjoy a race at the highest level. An ideal place to show the team colours.
The first stage will be held in Riccione on Tuesday, with the Mondaino and Montescudo circuits, each of which will be climbed twice. In total, 161.8 kilometres that contain the essence of the competition and will determine the first leader. The second stage will be 172.5 kilometres with four climbs to Roncofreddo (3rd category) and the Belvedere wall in Longiano as the final difficulty. Forlì hosts the shortest stage with just 140 kilometres but also one of the hardest, with three climbs to Monte Cavallo (2nd category).
There will still be the fourth stage at Fiorano Modenese with 168.6 kilometres and three passes through Serramazzoni as well as the double climb to the Sanctuary. The finishing touch will come on Saturday with an 18.6 kilometre time trial in Carpi that will be almost completely flat and will be used to decide the general classification of the race.
The squad that has been called up will fulfil the role in all the terrains that this Coppi e Bartali offers: young riders with a good role in the mountains such as Alessandro Fancellu, Álex Martín, who has just finished in the top-10 of Per Sempre Alfredo, Davide Piganzoli or Fernando Tercero. The solidity of Francesco Gavazzi and his speed to fight for the secondary classifications and the group finishes together with the complete and offensive attitude of Andrea Garosio or Simone Raccani augur a successful competition for EOLO KOMETA.
Biagio Conte: “The Coppi e Bartali race will have many WorldTour teams taking part. We have riders who have proven to be very good, especially the young riders who are going through a good moment and have their peak of form now, which makes us arrive with a lot of confidence to the Coppi e Bartali. Gavazzi’s experience will be really important, as he comes from a very good Tirreno. The stages will be very hard from the first day, with a very demanding route with no room for rest. We are very confident, we will race looking for breakaways with some of our guys at the start and we will try to make a good general classification with the youngsters Tercero and Piga and with Gavazzi as well”.
