Classics week closes in memory of Alfredo Martini
The streets of Florence will see this Sunday the last of the three classics that EOLO KOMETA is racing this week in Italy. Per Semple Alfredo will be a new opportunity for powerful, fast riders who can resist the three climbs to Collina in the final circuit.
Still with the Milan San Remo in our minds, a new competition will force our riders to continue the rhythm of work. The 190.2 kilometres of Per Sempre Alfredo will go around Florence on the roads that the cyclist used to ride in training. The circuits of Scarperia, Barberino di Mugello and Sesto Fiorentino will give an extra incentive to the race, which in its continuous up and down will demand the best of the riders before the climbs to Collina.
A line-up formed by Alessandro Fancellu, Andrea Garosio, Alex Martin, Davide Piganzoli, Simone Raccani, Javier Serrano and Fernando Tercero will aim to be the protagonist of the breakaways and the fight in the decisive part. Youth but experience, very diverse skills and the obligation to know that no opportunity should be missed.
Biagio Conte: “It’s a route like last year’s, the usual one. The finish is hard, it will demand the maximum and the strongest riders will be in charge of playing for the victory. I have a lot of confidence in Garosio, in young riders and in the line up with which we have faced Istria. We will look for the breakaway, we will try to be protagonists at the beginning and then fight for the best possible position at the finish line”.
