Hungarian Gergo Magyar wins in his category in Leonding and debuts the Contador Foundation on Austrian land

Leoding – Leoding (85,9 km)
Second-year junior Gergo Magyar, one of the three Hungarian riders competing in the junior structure of the Contador Foundation, took a great victory this Sunday in the junior category of the inaugural race of the Austrian Cycling League.
In Leonding, on a course of 85.9 kilometres resulting from four laps of a circuit where he had to face a demanding climb and several other hills, Magyar finished third in his race (both juniors and amateur cyclists competed at the same time), being the first #U19 at the finish line.
“I had a very good feeling during the whole day, I felt very strong during the whole race. On the climbs I was riding with the strongest riders and that’s why on the last climb I decided to go on the attack. Nobody came out behind me and I was able to reach the top alone. On the descent, however, I was caught by three amateur riders and in the final sprint I managed to finish third, although in my category I was the best by far”, he explains.
He was not the only Magyar rider in action on Sunday. In Ghent-Wevelgem, the first race of the U19 Nations Cup promoted by the International Cycling Union, Balint Feldhoffer was competing with his country’s national team.
