Torres y Barceló completaron un gran fin de semana
Cristian Torres consiguió su segundo triunfo del año en San Vicente (Alicante), tras 85 km de carrera que se hicieron muy duros debido al viento. Se dieron seis vueltas a un circuito básicamente llano en el que los 120 corredores participantes lucharon de principio a fin, con muchas alternativas que no fructificaron.
El Specialized-Fundación Alberto Contador estaba representado solo por dos corredores, Cristian Torres y Miguel Ángel Ballesteros, que resultó fundamental para mantener el control de la carrera en los últimos 5 kilómetros a favor de su compañero, demoledor en el sprint.
En Aragón, Fernando Barceló completó su palmarés con el Campeonato autonómico de Ruta, tras adjudicarse una semana antes el de Contra Reloj. Con un pelotón en torno a los 50 corredores, Barceló compitió aislado, sin apoyo de ningún otro corredor de su equipo, a pesar de lo cual consiguió una meritoria victoria.
Tras muchas alternativas e intentos de fuga fallidos, se hizo la escapada buena a falta de unos 30 kilómetros, en la que se metió Barceló en compañía de otros siete corredores. A meta, sin embargo, sólo llegaron cuatro hombres, imponiéndose finalmente al sprint el representante del Specialized-Fundación Alberto Contador, que sumó su cuatro triunfo personal y el decimosexto del equipo.
El próximo fin de semana, el Specialized-Fundación Alberto Contador competirá en tres pruebas. El sábado 18, en el II Trofeo Víctor Cabedo, en Onda, y en el XVII Trofeo José Luis de Santos, en Segovia. El domingo 19, correrá en el Trofeo Entrada Toros y Caballos, de Segorbe.

Cristian Torres and Fernando Barceló with two wins completed a great weekend for the Specialized-Fondation Alberto Contador, after Saturday’s win in Cantabria by Pablo Noriega.
Cristian Torres got his second win of the year in San Vicente (Alicante), after a 85 km race that became very hard because of the wind. There were six laps on a circuit basically flat with 120 riders that fought from start to finish, with many alternatives that were not successful.
The Specialized-Foundation Alberto Contador was represented only by two riders, Cristian Torres and Miguel Angel Ballesteros, who was instrumental in maintaining control of the race in the last 5 kilometers for his teammate, devastating in the sprint.
In Aragon, Fernando Barceló completed his palmarés with autonomic Road Championship, after winning a week before the Time Trial. With a squad around 50 riders, Barceló competed isolated, unsupported by any other rider of his team, although he got a meritorious victory.
After many alternatives and failed escape attempts, the good break was around 30 kilometrs to go, in which Barceló slipped together with other seven riders. To the finish line, however, came only four men, winning finally the sprint the Specialized-Foundation Alberto Contador representative, who won his fourth personal triumph and the sixteenth of the team.
Next weekend, the Specialized-Foundation Alberto Contador will compete in three events. On Saturday 18, in II Torphy Victor Cabedo and in the XVII Trofeo Jose Luis de Santos, in Segovia. On Sunday 19, will run in the Trophy Entrada Toros y Caballos, in Segorbe.
