Los juniors del Flex-Fundación Alberto Contador culminaron hoy el trabajo iniciado el pasado fin de semana en el Trofeo Víctor Cabedo, tras adjudicarse el sábado de manera muy brillante la contra reloj por equipos, en la que superaron por 16 segundos a sus más inmediatos rivales, los locales del Castillo de Onda.
De la crono por equipos salió líder JuanPe López, que ya venía de ganar una etapa la semana pasada, pero hoy, en la cuarta y última jornada del Cabedo, primera puntuable para la Copa de España, la victoria se jugó tras una escapada de tres corredores, uno de los cuales era Guillem Cassú, que de esta forma se adjudicó la general final del Trofeo Víctor Cabedo al hacer segundo en el sprint, lo que también le coloca en esa plaza de la general provisional de la Copa de España.
El Flex-Fundación Alberto Contador, dirigido en esta ocasión por Guillermo Gutiérrez, sumó hoy su tercer triunfo consecutivo en sus tres años de existencia en este exigente Memorial Cabedo. En 2013 la victoria fue para Enric Mas, en 2014 ganó Fernando Barceló (ambos están en la actualidad en el Specialized-Sub 23) y este año le ha tocado el turno a otra buena promesa de la cantera de la Fundación Alberto Contador, Guillem Cassú.
El fin de semana se cerró en Francia con el Trofeo Bernardeau, una dura carrera de 130 km en Bretaña que suponía la primera salida al extranjero de los juniors de Félix García Casas, que dijo haber terminado “muy contento del trabajo del equipo.
