Alberto Contador ha apadrinado en la mañana de hoy en Segovia la presentación oficial del equipo junior Specialized-Fundación Alberto Contador y a continuación salió junto a sus jóvenes corredores para realizar el primer entrenamiento oficial de la escuadra.
Alberto destacó en la presentación de este proyecto “la ilusión con la que hemos puesto en marcha este equipo y todo lo que lleva consigo, como las escuelas de ciclismo de Pinto y, el año que viene, el equipo de féminas y Sub-23”.
“Es un esfuerzo enorme para nosotros, pero este tipo de cosas son las que realmente te ilusionan. Es una generación joven, muy ilusionada y es lo que realmente se necesita. Cuando lo pensamos mi hermano y yo teníamos muchas dudas, pero gracias a la colaboración de todos los sponsors ha sido posible. Estamos muy contentos de poder aportar nuestro granito de arena”.
El sueño de los hermanos Contador, pues Fran es también el mánager del equipo, es ofrecer a los chicos aficionados al ciclismo la posibilidad de realizar todo su aprendizaje en la cantera de Fundación Alberto Contador, desde que empiezan en las escuelas hasta dar el salto a profesionales, un proyecto especialmente interesante en estos momentos de crisis económica, cuando más se aprecia el compromiso que están demostrando todos los patrocinadores y colaboradores de la Fundación.
A la presentación oficial acudió el alcalde de Segovia, Pedro Arahuetes, que señaló la fuerte vinculación de la ciudad al equipo, dirigido por el ex profesional segoviano José Luis de Santos, así como también Perico Delgado, que quiso de esta manera mostrar su apoyo a la iniciativa.
