Tour of Antalya, nothing to do for Lonardi
Tour of Antalya
Stage 2: Kemer-Antalya (183,3 km)
The chance for EOLO-KOMETA (and for its designated sprinter, Giovanni Lonardi) to get the second victory of the season goes away. In the sprint of Antalya, at the end of the second stage of the Tour of Antalya, Dusan Rajovic (Team Corratec) won ahead of Gibson (Wiv Sungod) and Tagliani (DroneHopper). First of ours was David Martin, who crossed the finish line in tenth position.
As expected, it was a stage with several climbs that selected the group. The guys of EOLO-KOMETA raced very well until the end, coming to play the final sprint that unfortunately has not rewarded them. Tomorrow is scheduled the stage that should decide the general classification, with the uphill arrival in Termessos: Marton Dina and Davide Bais will play their cards.
Biagio Conte: “The guys still have to get to know each other a little bit better, in the arrival some things didn’t work: we were four in the last kilometer and a half, then we got lost in the last meters. Sometimes one more word is enough to understand each other and get better organized. Tomorrow, we’ll try: let’s see what we can pull out with Bais and Dina”.
