Tough third round in Italy: a demanding circuit to fight for the Trofeo Fubine

Time for the routes of Piemonte. The Trofeo Fubine Porta del Monferrato welcomes this Sunday the EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team U23 with a young race, the 2022 edition will be its third edition, which nevertheless presents a route as demanding as interesting. A circuit slightly shorter than ten kilometres that the riders will have to complete fifteen times.

For this race organised by the Associazione Sportiva Dilettantistica Vilettantistica Veloeventi Cantone Grassi, the director Dario Andriotto has called upon Edoardo Alleva, Sebastiano Minoia, Andrea Montoli, Manuel Oioli, Javi Serrano and Pablo Uría.

The proposed circuit has up to four uphill sections of different types, with many steep slopes. The terrain, in short, is quite winding, with twists and turns and changes of direction. Perhaps the most demanding zone is the arrival at Fubine itself, which takes place after a one-kilometre wall at 10%.

Edoardo Alleva faces his third race in the new category: “The first U23 race is a mixture of emotions. It’s both a debut and a new experience at this level. The first race, the Coppa San Geo, went well, my legs responded and I did my best to help my team-mates. The Memorial Polese was much better, we rode as a team, the strength was there and we did a great job for the finish. It was a pity that Manuel had a mechanical problem in the volata. This Sunday we have another chance to try it in Fubine. The race is very interesting, with a lot of steep climbs. I think we are a good team and we are confident of a good result”.

Director Dario Andriotto: “We are facing a peculiar race, very different from the Coppa San Geo or the Memorial Polese in that it is much tougher. It is certainly not a corsa for a pure volata. A circuit always presents a series of specific complexities, but in this case it is also a hard circuit, with different types of climbs and some very steep descents. A day to keep an eye on all day long. It’s going to be a very tough race and we’re confident of doing well”.
