EOLO Kometa is facing, while competing on Tour of Croatia, three classics of enormous prestige and tradition in Italy. The Coppa Agostini, the Giro dell’Emilia and the Coppa Bernocchi speed up the road towards the end of the season.
The closing of the month of September has its headquarters in Lissone. A city where they will take the start and compete for the finish, although the race will be decided on the Lissolo circuit. There will be four laps of this route in the central part, which includes the climbs of Colle Brianza and Lissolo. Short (just 3 kilometres) but with the hardness to break the peloton. The victory can fall in the legs of a brave rider, or of a small group that will play for the victory in the sprint. The stagiere Andrea Montoli will once again test himself with professional cyclists, after racing Giro della Toscana. Another lesson for the young Italian rider.
The town of Carpi will kick off the Giro dell’Emilia. Almost 200 kilometres lie ahead, with Ca’Bortolani and Medelana to be overcome before the final part. The route includes five climbs on the final circuit from Bologna to the Sanctuary Madonna di San Luca to see attacks by the favourites and attempts from afar to surprise those who want to gamble everything on the last climb.
On Monday, 3 October, the Coppa Bernochi offers three very different parts. In the first kilometres, the fight will be for the intermediate passes and the prizes, in the central part there will be 7 laps of a 16.7 kilometre circuit, all of them up Morazzone, while the resolution in Legnano seems to be decided by a bunch that will decide the winner in a sprint. An opportunity for Lonardi, who will have the team around him and in which there will also be the stagiaires Fran Muñoz and Andrea Pietrobon, from our under-23 team, who will ride with professionals in this race.
Biagio Conte: “Coppa Agostoni and the Giro dell’Emilia are two very demanding races where Lorenzo Fortunato will lead the team with the help of riders like Gavazzi, who knows both races to perfection; Bais and Sevilla, two riders who have been shining in the last competitions; and the rest of the team that presents a great ambition for the end of the season. On the other hand, we will attend Coppa Bernocchi with Lonardi’s speed as the main asset since it is a race that, barring a setback, usually get resolved in a sprint”.
