Double representation of the Kometa-Xstra Cycling Team this Sunday in the sixth edition of the Trofeu Club Ciclista La Vileta of Palma de Mallorca by the Bennassar brothers, the u23 Joan Martí and the junior Francesc.
The race was held on a 3.5 km street circuit, the Son Puig, which participants in category 1, which included the junior and U23 among others, had to complete 12 turns to add 42 kilometers.
Francesc Bennassar finally finished third in his category, seventh in the absolute category, 36 seconds behind the winner. With his brother Joan Martí running at the head of the race together with Juan Marín, a good collaboration in the relays, the second year junior rider made an effort to cover all the gaps generated by the multiple accelerations that took place.
“With about three laps to go we moved from the pack three riders. My brother was still in the lead with Juan Marín, being chased by a group of about five riders. On the last lap I started and I was only ten metres away from being able to catch that little group”, he explained.
Francesc is between the eight riders selected by Guillermo Gutiérrez to compete, between this Thursday 30th and Sunday 2nd August in a new edition of the Vuelta Ciclista al Besaya.
