The Polartec Junior Team occupied all three posts of the final podium in the Vuelta a Valladolid
The Polartec Junior Team offered a great cycling exhibition in the Vuelta a Valladolid, which ended on Sunday the 23rd, the same day as the Tour de France. A team directed by Guillermo Gutiérrez and composed of Marc Brustenga, Joan Martí Bennassar, David Cabezas, Carlos Garcia, Sergio Garcia and Hugo Sampedro dominated the race from the first to the last day, achieving the victory in two stages and the three places of the final podium, with the team victory included.
The first day, which ended in a sprint, was a stage marked to Marc Brustenga, who came from winning the prologue in France, but here didn’t want to miss his opportunity in the sprint. He got it after the control of the race by his teammates and demonstrating once again that he is probably not only the fastest junior Spanish rider but also one of the best in Europe.
The next day, in a double sector highlighted by a time trial of 9.2 km, the turn was for another of the rideres most in form of the team, Joan Martí Bennassar, whose good performance in the specialty gave him the victory, followed by Sergio Garcia, who also showed his good moment. From there, the Vuelta a Valladolid was marked by Polartec strategic control, that managed to round up the work placing Carlos Garcia in the third place of the podium when sending him to control a breakaway that managed to reach the goal.
With the work done, on the last day the team led by Guillermo Gutiérrez used the third and final day to control the race, waiting for next competitions, the last test of the Spanish Cup, within two weeks in Peñafiel, and the Vuelta to Aranda de Duero, where these riders hope to continue taking advantage of their good moment in the final part of the season.
