The end of Gran Camiño
O Gran Camiño (2.1)
Stage 4: Sarrià-Sarrià (15’8km)
A time trial around Sarrià put the finishing touch to O Gran Camiño, the Galician race that closes the competition in Spain after more than a month of races.
It was not the day for EOLO Kometa, who were satisfied with the 25th place of Rivi and the 32nd of Erik Fetter who got confused in the detour before the finish line and lost a few seconds despite having a great time in the almost 16 kilometres of the course.
With the memory of Lonardi’s second place in the opening stage of the race in the sprint, the focus is now on the races in Italy, which start next week and will keep the competitive pulse of the riders.
Jesús Hernández: “I make a positive evaluation in general. Lonardi is still in the sprint and was able to take a creditable second place, only behind a great rider like Magnus Cort. I also appreciate the support work done by all the team-mates that day, which was phenomenal. The results may not have been otherwise brilliant, but it was a young, rookie team that needs to gain confidence. Rivi has also surprised us because he has taken a step forward, especially on the hardest day”.
