Talavera, end of party of the Polartec-Kometa junior
XXVI Challenge Vuelta a Talavera Junior
From 14 to 16 September
The Challenge Vuelta a Talavera de la Reina, which has been promoting the CDC Talavera Joaquín Polo for more than twenty-five editions, emerges as the last commitment of a season, a great season, of the Polartec-Kometa junior. It is between the recent Spanish Championships in this category and one week before the World Championships in Innsbruck.
The Andalusians Manuel Garrido and Carlos Rodríguez, the Catalans Álex Martín and Juanjo Rosal, the locals Luis Miguel Mendoza and Javier Serrano, the Spaniards Iván Oliver and the Portuguese Daniel Lopes make up the team that will face this event in which, in its day competed runners such as Alberto Contado, Alejandro Valverde or the local runner David Arroyo.
Compared to other editions, in which a time trial has been proposed, this year’s Talaverana round presents three online stages that will be marked by heat, exposure to the possible action of the wind and, from a more orographic prism, a multitude of steep slopes that, without the ascent to the highest peaks of the Sierra de San Vicente, will have their zenith in the final stage with beginning and end and in the regional capital.
The stages.
14 September: La Pueblanueva-La Pueblanueva (74.7 km)
15 September: Calera and Chozas-Calera and Chozas (91.9 km).
16 September: Talavera de la Reina-Talavera de la Reina (102.47 km).
