A double stage today for the EOLO Kometa riders, who competed in the morning with a sprint finish and a new victory for Sarreau (Groupama), with Maestri the best placed 14th at the finish. In the afternoon it was the turn of the time trial. An individual effort in which the best blue was Mirco Maestri with 27’07”. Once again in this Tour Poitou Charentes, bad luck struck the team with the breakdown of Erik Fetter, forcing him to change bikes and losing all chances.

Biagio Conte: “We were convinced that we could have a good time trial with Erik. He was focused and motivated…but unfortunately the same thing happened to him as in the European Championships; a breakdown forced him to change bike at the start of the race and that’s when all his chances were over. We are already thinking about tomorrow’s stage with the ambition to get a good result”.
