Santiago de Compostela, the end of O Gran Camiño
The majestic cathedral of Santiago de Compostela hosted the arrival of the time trial that put an end to O Gran Camiño and to the competition in Spain that has marked the first month of EOLO KOMETA races. Our Lorenzo Fortunato tried to defend his privileged fifth place in the overall, and in a discipline that is always complicated, he managed to finish in 13th position.
It has been a week of contrasts in Galicia. With the snow forcing to neutralize the end of the first stage and to modify the route of the third one. With the hardness and the cobbled section at the end in Santa Trega to see Lorenzo Fortunato shine, and confirm his great moment in the arrival in O Castelo the next day. All are good sensations, the progression continues and the appointments in Italy that will mark the month of March are faced with optimism.
The three victories of the disputed stages were for Vingegaard (TJV), but the attitude of EOLO KOMETA with the mountain jersey of Gavazzi during the first two days, with the breakaway of Mattia Bais and Álex Martín, have offered a great image of the team in O Gran Camiño. The next stop, this Wednesday in the Trofeo Laigueglia.
