Rosa and Fortunato stay close to the best riders in Baza
Vuelta a Andalucía-Ruta del Sol (2.PRO)
Cúllar Vega-Baza (167’4km)
Not even 10 kilometers passed and the big names of the Vuelta a Andalucía had already decided to hit the table and break the race.
Diego Rosa and Lorenzo Fortunato suffered and made an effort not to be left behind. But the virulence of the changes of pace relegated them to a second group. Difficult to achieve collaboration in a race situation like this. The kilometers passed and the hardest part, with the differences increasing.
They finally showed up at the finish line with time lost and the bad news that Diego Pablo Sevilla gave up his jersey for the intermediate sprints, although he is still tied on points with the leader Caruso. Everything will be decided on the final day.
Diego Rosa: “It has been a strange stage. With Monachil starting, which is a very tough climb, the strongest riders have moved and have gone 15 ahead. Behind, the bunch has broken up, Fortu and I were in the leader’s group where there were also riders well positioned in the general classification but there was not much understanding, only the UAE was pulling. Finally, the group of 15 cyclists has reached the finish line and we have concluded in a second group. A day in which the strength that each one had in the legs has been seen.
