Pablo García
U23
Coming from Caja Rural-Alea and formed in the Club Ciclista Galapagar, Majadahonda (January 16, 2001) is one of the most prominent riders of the amateur scene. Known in the peloton familiarly as ‘Garchu’, he won in the 2023 season the overall and two stages of the reborn Vuelta Ciclista a Ávila. But he also won the Trofeo San José and two stages of the Vuelta a Navarra and the Vuelta a Madrid in the 2022 season. His extensive experience will be fundamental in the heart of a project that in 2024 incorporates up to eight youth riders to the category. García, after four seasons with the Navarre team, faces his entry into the elite category with a very rejuvenated squad. Traditionally, the U23 team has not had many elite riders in its ranks – Italian Andrea Pietrobon was the last member two seasons ago and other recent members have included Mario Vilches, Jorge Pastor and Giuliano Kamberaj – but experience is of particular value for the coming season. “I am very happy to be part of the Foundation’s team next season. From the outside, from a rival’s point of view, I have always liked the way they have been working. And of course being the home team, from Madrid, is something that seduces a little more. Rafa Díaz explained to me the project they were working on for next season, with a lot of young players, and I also liked that confidence,” explains Garchu.
