José Miguel Moreira
Junior
Coming from Silva & Vinha-ADRAP, with which in his first year in the junior category he has shown a formidable regularity that has earned him the final victory in the Taça de Portugal of the category (the Portugal Cup), the Portuguese will be the second representative of his country in the ranks of the junior structure of the Contador Foundation after Daniel Lopes in 2018. “I started in this sport when I was a second year child because a school teacher suggested I should try it. So I did, I liked it and here I am. And I intend to continue in this sport for many years to come,” he says. In the beginning, he admits, he took up cycling more as a hobby. “But I was shown the true reality of this sport and I became passionate about it to the point of becoming much more competitive. That’s why the results in the first year in the category weren’t really what I had hoped for, but I worked hard to fight for everything. Outside of cycling and his training and rest routines, he enjoys spending time with his family, his girlfriend and playing video games with his friends.
