Pablo García and Antonio González in the top10 of the first stage of the Vuelta a Salamanca
The Vuelta Ciclista a Salamanca began with a very demanding day and up to eight summits. Antonio González and Pablo García rode in the front group that would finally fight for the victory. The rider from Madrid was the best of the team at the finish line in fifth position.
The stage began with a strong pace and attacks to reach the breakaway, but the race had to be neutralized for several minutes. Once the race was underway again, hostilities in the bunch returned. With 50 kilometers to go, the definitive breakaway was forged. Pablo García managed to stay with the strongest riders and be on that breakaway. Antonio González came from the main group with a solo attack to form a 12 riders group. Shortly after, the rider from Soria would drop out of the group after a huge effort to connect. García, for his part, struggled to resist and despite giving meters in some moments, finally finished fifth in the same group as the second classified.
Antonio González finished ninth, so the team placed two riders in the top ten of the stage.
