Almost a month ago the first race of the season took place in Valencia. A round day for EOLO Kometa, in which the victory was achieved. Since then, the Spanish roads have allowed us to dispute an intense calendar that culminates, for now, with the dispute of O Gran Camiño in Galicia.
As pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago, this competition will allow us to discover the four provinces of the region in four equally demanding days, which also include a time trial on the last day. Spectacular and very hard landscapes such as the Mirador de Ézaro in the second stage will mark the outcome of a race only for brave cyclists.
In the list of participants, the sprint Giovanni Lonardi will try to overcome the constant Galician ups and downs to be able to fight in some mass finish. Alongside him, Simone Bevilacqua, Davide Bais, Samuele Rivi, Daniel Viegas who rides very close to Portugal, Erik Fetter and the young climber Alessandro Fancellu who will try to squeeze in the ramps above 30% of the Mirador de Ézaro.
Jesús Hernández: “It’s a race with a very attractive format. A first day with a sprint in which we hope to do very well with Lonardi; a second day with the mythical Mirador de Ézaro, short but very explosive with impossible ramps and which we hope will be ridden in the dry; the third day which visits Comanche territory with ambushes and short but hard passes; as well as the final time trial to decide the general classification if it is not already. I think Fetter will be a man to watch, with the quality to make a good overall result. Also Fancellu and Bais are sure to be in front in the key moments”.
