Lucas Guillermo and Antonio González ride this Sunday for Foundation
XLIII Circuito San Veremundo
Villatuerta-Villatuerta (70.5 km)
Lucas Guillermo from La Rioja and Antonio González from Soria will represent this Sunday the EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team junior in Navarre. The riders of the junior structure of the Contador Foundation will take part in the Circuito San Veremundo de Villatuerta, a classic appointment in the calendar that this season gains more notoriety due to the cancellations and postponements that have been happening these last weeks.
The race is over 70 kilometres long and has a broken profile with the Alto de Mañeru (2.5 kilometres at an average of over 5%, which is crowned in the last twenty kilometres) and a sloping finish line, located on the so-called Cuesta de la Iglesia (Church Slope). The wind may also make an appearance on this route due to the presence of very open sections.
Guillermo and González will be the first riders of the EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team to take part in a road competition in this 2021 campaign, although the previous weekend the Madrid riders Miguel Ángel Molina and Samuel de Pablo already premiered the youth team of the Fundación Contador taking part in the first round of the Track League of the Federación Madrileña de Ciclismo. The Galapagar velodrome, venue of the first race, will host again this weekend the second one, where Miguel Ángel Molina arrives at the top of the classification.
