Last stage race of the season: Tour of Turkey

Tour of Turkey (2.1)
8th to 15th de october

EOLO KOMETA faces from this Sunday the last stage race of the season, a Tour of Turkey held in October that was postponed by the terrible earthquake that hit the country a few months ago. The final opportunity to fight for the sprint finishes, the hard mountain days and the overall of a competition in which great international cyclists will be present.

A total of 8 stages, starting in Antalya (the area most devastated by the earthquake in February) and finishing in Istanbul, most of which will be dominated by fast men. However, the high finish of the third day in Babadag, 20 kilometers of ascent to reach almost 2000 meters of altitude, will mark the big differences. The sixth stage with the finish in Selçuk (1st category) will also break up the race and will also be the longest day at almost 200 kilometers. Watch out for the final circuit in Sultanahmet on the last day with four final laps, which can undoubtedly provide some surprises.

The EOLO KOMETA team will be led for the sprints again by Giovanni Lonardi and David Martin. Two fast riders who will surely be supported by Simone Bevilacqua and Andrea Pietrobon, two riders who also have the obligation to be protagonists in the race. Road captain Mirco Maestri will also be the reference for the young climbers: Álex Martín and Fernando Tercero complete a block with the obligation for the Spanish riders to be protagonists in the demanding climb of the queen stage and in the hardest moments of this Tour of Turkey.

Jesús Hernández, sports director of EOLO KOMETA, anticipates “an offensive and brave attitude, as in CRO Race and the rest of the competitions. We have a competitive block, which has options in the sprint in which everyone will work to place and protect the fastest riders. But also in the mountains Fernando Tercero and Álex Martín will surely shine, with the fundamental support of Andrea Pietrobon in the terrain. Every day we will try to ride together, fight for good results and maintain that daily presence in the top positions for this last race of the season”.
