GP Miguel Induráin (1.PRO)
Estella-Estella (203km)
Navarra, and more specifically the town of Estella, hosts this Saturday the GP Miguel Induráin. The cyclist who won five Tours de France in the 90s and whose exploits motivated a whole generation. Now, the classic that bears his name summons an EOLO Kometa that will look for a great performance against a high level of participation.
Vincenzo Albanese climbed to the podium last season with the victory of the special sprints, showing his quality and knowing how to take advantage of the opportunity to filter in the breakaway. With a similar strategy, the presence of the team’s young riders in this GP Miguel Induráin is assured.
More than 200 kilometers, with the most demanding climbs in the final part and especially Lezáun and Eraúl that will be decisive. These are the hot spots of a route full of steep climbs, with no rest, in which also will play an important role the placement into the bunch and the harsh weather conditions that are expected at the beginning of April.
Jesús Hernández: “We have a very competitive team. In these races, you have to look for the protagonism at the start, look at the secondary classifications, have a presence in the race and compete with ambition. The riders must show if it has recovered from the efforts in Italy, some of its crash, and the showcase will be the best to shine with a huge level of participation”.
