Iván Polo and Lucas Guillermo compete in the Galician Road Championship and in the Gran Premio Hermanos Indurain in Villava
Galician Junior Championship
Betanzos-Betanzos (100 km)
The rider from Puebla, Iván Polo, finished fourth in the Galician Road Championships for the junior category that took place in the town of Betanzos over 100 kilometres in which the climb known in the area as Galibier in the last ten kilometres was the highlight.
Polo, protagonist of one of the great movements of the day, a breakaway of four riders that faced the last third of the day with a minute and a half of margin, finally finished fourth in a race in which the winner was Iván Belmonte from Pontevedra.
XXVI Gran Premio Hermanos Indurain
Villava – Villava (87 km)
Lucas Guillermo from La Rioja did not miss his appointment with the Basque calendar in Navarre, of which he is a regular whenever he has the chance. Guillermo took part in the race that honours the brothers Miguel and Prudencio Indurain and organised by the Club Ciclista Villava, a race with a multitude of steep climbs.
After many attempts at a breakaway, none of which failed to crystallise, the victory went to Raúl Ostiz (Vizcay), the fastest rider in the group of some thirty riders who came to the finish line. Guillermo finished eighteenth, with the same time as the winner.
