The Giro d’Italia continues on its course, travels home, leaves Hungary. But the cycling competition continues in the country that has hosted its ‘Grande Partenza’, its first three pedal strokes. Now it is the turn of the Tour of Hungary.
Six EOLO Kometa riders will have the honour of defending the colours in a very important race for the team. We are talking about the origin of our sponsor Kometa. And also Marton Dina, who will compete with the satisfaction and ambition of a rider who is racing on home soil in a race of great calibre.
The route offers five stages that are expected to provide three opportunities for the sprinters, one on the opening day for the strongest riders on the Szekesfehervar circuit, and the overall to be decided on the last stage, at the high finish in Gyöngyös-Kékestető. Terrain to suit all riders. Hungary is ready to have another week with a strong EOLO Kometa presence.
Sean Yates: “Obviously there are a number of important WorldTour teams that set our sights on the race. We’re going to help David Martin as much as we can because I think there will be four sprint opportunities and we need to see the best wheel to get a good result. Above all, because the best sprinters will be there. It’s an important test for him. It will be difficult to fight against the strongest ‘trenos’ of the peloton, but we are in the home of one of our main sponsors, Kometa, so we will try to be seen, fight for prominence and not forget the general classification. Without a doubt, the level of the climbers here allows us to dream of a good result and I think that the top finish is achievable. We will continue to grow as a team, looking for our options and exciting”.
