Fourth place for Pablo García in the second stage of the Vuelta a Castilla y León

Vuelta Castilla y León
Stage 2: Carrascal - San Esteban (116km)

Pablo García returned to competition after the obligatory break due to the fall suffered during the last Spanish Championship. He finished fourth in the second stage of the Vuelta a Castilla y León showing a great level.

The stage started with great breakaway attempts trying to repeat the success achieved by the escapees in the previous day in a race with only six riders per team. The differences would never exceed a minute and a half and halfway through the stage, on the ascent to the Puerto de Valero (1st) the bunch was again grouped together. The race was completely broken after reaching the top of this climb and the ascent to Los Pajares (2nd) immediately after.

At the head of the race there was a large group with Gerard Cano and Pablo García representing the team. Four riders jumped out of the group and maintained a strong battle with the chasing group. Of the four leading riders, two would fight for the victory. After a descent before tackling the last climb to the finish line, the chasing group broke up. Pablo García sprinted and led the reduced group in which he was riding. He took fourth place in a demanding day in which Gerard Cano finished 15th.
