Fortunato and Ravasi: EOLO-KOMETA runs with the big

What a stage. What a spectacle. And what a climb: hard, very hard, the hardest of this Giro. Very hard ramps up to the arrival at Sega di Ala, where Yates tried to reopen the tour and Bernal appeared for the first time in trouble. Where Irishman Martin won. And, above all, where our guys once again rode as protagonists. Because no, it wasn’t easy to stay with the strongest again today. It wasn’t easy to be protagonists again in the third week of the Giro. It wasn’t easy, but our guys were wonderful: once again.

Ready, set, go: after the start from Canazei our Ravasi decided that it was time to leave his mark on his Giro and tried to give a first acceleration. The breakaway of the day, without riders from EOLO-KOMETA, then took a few minutes of advantage but ours – Fortunato, Christian, Ravasi – have always remained with the group of the pink jersey. On the descent from the Passo di San Valentino our Christian was unfortunately involved in a fall that left its mark especially on Nibali, Ciccone and Evenepoel. On the final climb (a very hard one, trust me: we did it in the car…) the biggest spectacle of this Giro took place. And among the greatest of this Giro, also two of ours: Fortunato, arrived then 12th at 2’47” from the winner, and Ravasi, 19th at 3’18”. And now Fortunato is 17th in the general classification at 38’31” from Bernal. Not bad, isn’t it?

And tomorrow? Tomorrow there is a very interesting stage on the plate: 231 km from Rovereto to Stradella, and you can be sure that our guys will be on the attack.

Edward Ravasi: “For the first time since I’ve been at the Giro I can finally say I’m happy. I’m happy because my leg has finally turned well, because I was in front until 6 km from the end, because I didn’t feel any problems or pain. There are two or three stages ahead of me where I really want to try and do something important. I believe in it, I really do”.

#Giro. Mark Christian is OK. Despite of his crash he finished 45th after a great work supporting Ravasi and Fortunato. "I'm sore from the impact, but everything is fine", tells @MarkChristian8. Good rest, Mark!
