Dislocated shoulder for Manuel Belletti: His Tirreno-Adriatico ends
Following a crash in the final kilometres of yesterday’s stage, Manuel Belletti underwent tests which revealed a dislocation of the left shoulder. The rider will not be at the start of today’s stage.
Dr. Fabián Sanchís, EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team doctor: “The tests showed an acromio-clavicular dislocation. On Monday he will undergo a magnetic resonance to exclude an involvement of ligaments”.
Stefano Zanatta, ds EOLO-KOMETA Cycling Team: “We are really sorry for what happened to Manuel, who was really unlucky. Sorry for him, and sorry for the team because Manuel is the most experienced rider and his presence in the group is invaluable. He’ll have to leave Tirreno-Adriatico, and it’s a pity because we have a couple of stages ahead of us, above all Porto San Giorgio, in which we would have raced for him. We’ll be waiting for him soon”.
