Breakaway and good performance in the finish at Clàssica Comunitat Valenciana
Solid start of the season for EOLO KOMETA, which had a leading role in the breakaway of the race with Mattia Bais, filtered two riders in the leading group and was able to get a top-20 with Álex Martín.
The Clàssica Comunitat Valenciana followed the expected script, with a breakaway that reached 5 minutes and in which Mattia Bais put the quality and presence of the team.
Second in the special sprint of Barxeta and third in the Alto de Barx, the gap was reduced. Already within the final 25 kilometres, on the last climb, the attempt was neutralised and it was Alex Martín and Andrea Garosio who got into the selection.
Without breaking as much as expected, the group reached the finish line where Álex Martín was 19th. The team now rests before heading to Mallorca next week, while another block starts tonight to compete in Argentina.
Stefano Zanatta: “The absence of Albanese allowed Álex Martín to take the lead and the responsibility of being the rider who could go the furthest. He attacked on the hardest climb because he is not a fast rider. It is also worth mentioning the breakaway of Bais, the strength of Garosio and the commitment of all the riders for these next competitions. They rode well, together, and that’s important”.
