At the Giro del Veneto to find continuity
Giro del Veneto (1.1)
Padova-Vicenza (159.8 km)
Wednesday, Oct. 12
Lineup: Francesco Gavazzi, Davide Bais, Andrea Pietrobon, Mirco Maestri, Samuele Rivi, Alessandro Fancellu.
The season is not over. We still have in our eyes the emotions of the Giro di Lombardia, we still have inside us the disappointment of Lorenzo Fortunato’s fall, and we still have inside us the satisfaction of the test put on by Alessandro Fancellu. No, the season is not over and in front of us there are still two races that are two opportunities to look for more victories and satisfactions: we go to Veneto, with the first appointment this Wednesday when the calendar will put in our way the Giro del Veneto. A race that has its tradition in the history of cycling and that sees in its roll of honor the greatest of the past.
We will be there. With a fierce team that will forget the fatigue of a long and tiring season, which has now reached its last appointments.
Biagio Conte: “As we reach the end of the season, fatigue is there for everyone, so whoever has the most head and desire will win. We come to this appointment with a good condition even if the last few days have been a bit unlucky. We had thought of bringing Lorenzo Fortunato to this race as the leader, but his fall in the Giro di Lombardia forced us to change plans. In his place we will have a young man like Andrea Pietrobon who performed well at Gran Piemonte, while our two leaders will be Bais and Fancellu who are proving to ride very well, with Maestri, Gavazzi and Rivi in support. The course is not very demanding and the kilometers to go are not a lot, but as said the end-of-season races are always a surprise because fatigue sets in.”
