Another one for climbers: here comes the Vuelta a Asturias
Vuelta a Asturias (2.1)
Stage 1: Oviedo-Pola de Lena (169km)
Stage 2: Candás-Cangas del Narcea (202km)
Stage 3: Cangas del Narcea-Oviedo (122km)
The last test, the last race before the Giro d’Italia. Everything is ready for the biggest event and an opportunity to finish polishing the physical form, the pace and the last details to make it three weeks of glory.
Lorenzo Fortunato and the rest of the EOLO Kometa riders are clear that the previous preparation, the exquisite planning and the concentration are the keys to success. A victory before the Giro would be the boost and motivation that can turn a team around.
Before those three weeks, the three stages of Asturias. The first two with a clear mountainous profile and long distances, which will decide the general classification, and the last day with a more accessible profile to finish in the mythical Uría street of the Asturian capital, where great historic cyclists have always achieved the final triumph.
Jesús Hernández: “It is a race that will let us to know the form of the riders, how they feel after being at altitude, as in the case of Lorenzo Fortunato, or after competing on other races like Francesco Gavazzi. The Vuelta a Asturias is closely linked to the history of Alberto Contador and the Foundation, we always come with everything to be able to compete in it. I’m sure that Fortunato or Albanese, each in his own terrain, will make their best”.
