Another escape, another battle. And between tomorrow and Saturday the Giro is decided

This will be remembered as the Giro of the breakaways: many stages have ended this way, with the adventurers of the day able to crown almost always their dream and the group far away to control. And that’s how it ended today too, in a stage that EOLO-KOMETA interpreted as always on the attack, sending two of its riders in the breakaway of the day. Rivi and Gavazzi were in fact able to enter the action that characterized the stage, composed of 23 riders who reached up to 20 minutes of advantage on the group. And they tried, our two runners: working, collaborating, resisting. Before to yield to the so much fatigue accumulated and to the shot of Bettiol that is glided on the arrival of Stradella conquering the stage.

The Giro, meanwhile, prepares to its epilogue. Tomorrow stage with arrival in climb, shortened after the decision to remove the climb of the Mottarone in sign of respect towards the victims of the terrible tragedy of last Sunday. The arrival at Alpe di Mera, however, promises to be a spectacle: Yates will try to attack the pink jersey of Bernal, our Fortunato and Ravasi are ready to give battle.

Edward Ravasi: “Today I tried to save my strength for the last two days, because I like those two uphill finishes. In tomorrow’s stage I can do something good, I would have preferred to do the Mottarone because it’s my home climb but given what happened I think it was right to take it out. But the Alpe di Mera climb is hard, I like it and my leg is good. I really hope to be seen”.
