Andrea Pietrobon leaves his mark on the Gran Piemonte: “Being at the front is always nice”
106º Gran Piemonte
Omegna-Bienasco (198 km)
Double stagiaire representation of the U23 structure of the Contador Foundation this Thursday in the ranks of the EOLO KOMETA Cycling Team to face a new edition of the centenary Gran Piemonte. Fran Muñoz and Andrea Pietrobon competed with the blue squad, sharing team with Mirco Maestri, Giovanni Lonardi, Samuel Rivi, David Martín and Francesco Gavazzi.
If a few days ago, in the Coppa Bernocchi, it was Fran Muñoz who was part of the great breakaway of the day, this time it was Andrea Pietrobon who managed to break the discipline of the peloton and ride in the vanguard. The Italian was part of a quartet completed by Marco Tizza (Bingoal Pauwels), Kamil Malecki (Lotto-Soudal) and Matteo Jorgenson (Movistar). “I’m happy, because the goal was to be in the breakaway and I achieved it, because being at the front is always nice and because I think I gave some visibility to the team,” he said after the race.
