Andrea Montoli climbs to sixth place in the overall Zamora classification in the Wind Park of Lubián
The Italian rider Andrea Montoli climbed to sixth place in the provisional classification of this edition of the Vuelta a Zamora after a queen stage in which the victory, and the lead, went to the Guatemalan Sergio Chumil (Cortizo). A tough day, with seven punctuated climbs, in which Montoli finished ninth, a minute and a half behind.
A day for the strong men in the general classification in which there was little tolerance for breakaways because the last and decisive climb was the stage where everything had to be played out. Neither a large movement of 22 riders, which included Álex García, nor other subsequent attempts achieved wide gaps and by the second pass over the Ladiairo and Marabón chain of climbs the race was very grouped together. On this second climb, Sinuhé Fernández (Cortizo) made his move, whose attempt ended on the final climb, the scene of the definitive attacks.
