And as an epilogue to an intense season, a great race. The French Ronde de l’Isard emerges as the next sporting challenge for the U23 structure of the Contador Foundation, which will close its season on French soil. A race that also symbolises the change that the structure intends to make with a view to 2022: without neglecting the Italian and Spanish calendars, to be more present in other races abroad for the U23 category. The Ronde de l’Isard is one of the most prestigious stage races on the world U23 scene, it is also one of the most demanding and its peloton always includes many future professionals. Usually held in the spring, in mid to late May, the epidemiological evolution of the start of the year prompted its organisers to move it to another time of the year. Its promoters were among the first to suspend the event in 2021 and to invite all cycling fans to 2022.

Álex Martín, David Martín, Andrea Montoli, Yago Segovia, Javi Serrano and Fernando Tercero make up the sextet that will take part in this always demanding event that, year after year, edition after edition, does not hesitate to take on some of the great passes of the Pyrenees. In this 2021 it will be the case of the Horquette d’Ancizan and the Col d’Aspin, both in the third stage, or the Plateau de Beille, end of the fourth stage; without forgetting the more or less usual chained Lers-Agnes-Latrape, which will be managed in the final stage.

1st October: Pierrefitte-Nestalas – Bagneres-de-Bigorre (134.1 km).

2nd October: Fonsorbes – Plateau de Beille (149.2 km).

3rd October: Auterive – Saint-Girons (157.8 km).
